Further Details

This system automatically controls the leakage of chlorine from 100kg and 900kg tonnels and that chlorine is used as a cleaning agent. This system consists of blower, absorption tower with Raschig rings, alkali tank (NaOH) etc. It makes a person to take breath easily. It has the absorption capacity of 100kg/hr and 200kg/hr for 100kg and 900kg cylinders. There are two kinds of absorption systems like:

Tower Type.
Pit Type.

Tower Type

The Chlorine gas leakage absorption system
Basic system consists of

Casutic solution holding tank
Caustic recirculating pump.
FRP scrubber with palrings.
FRP chimney for air vent.
Suction blower with motor
FRP ducting.
Toner/ cylinder hood.
Connical Hood.
Flexible PVC piping

Method of operation

Manual Mode

If leakage of chlorine gas sensed by means of ammonia torch and the leakage is uncontrollable or to remove the excess of chlorine gas in the chlorination room.
Preparation of caustic solution in caustic holding tank should be kept ready.
Wear Self breathing apparatus if the caustic recirculation pump and blower starters are in the same chlorination room.
Start the blower so that the blower will suck the chlorine gas in the room/ atmosphere and put it in the scrubbing system.
Also start the caustic solution recirculation pump so that the chlorine gas trapped in the scrubbing system is absorbed in the caustic solution and accumulated in caustic holding tank as hypo chlorine. There hypo chlorine solution can be reused as disinfectant or can be used as cleaning agent so that the leaked chlorine gas can be used with out wastage

Note : Never mix caustic flakes with water inside the caustic holding tank for the preparation of caustic solution. It should be prepared outside or use caustic solution which is readily available.

Automatic Mode
In addition to the basic absorption system, it consists of

Leakage Detector.
Leakage Sensors.
Leakage Alarm device.
Control panel.

Method of Operation:

As soon as the leakage of chlorine is sensed by the sensor, the alarm device beeps and it automatically operates the FRP Blower and Caustic recirculation Pump with the help of control panel and neutralizes the chlorine gas.

Features:

No trained Person required for operation of the system.
The automatic system can also run in manual mode.
The whole system is totally closed.

Pit Type

Basic system consist of

RCC Pit with FRP lining for Caustic solution holding tank.
Suction blower with motor
FRP ducting.
Toner/cylinder hood.
Connical Hood.
Flexible PVC piping

The hypo chlorine solution can be reused as disinfectant or can be used as cleaning agent so that the leaked chlorine gas can be used without wastage
